Station usage

Interesting article about the usage levels of Metro stations.  No surprise that  Farragut North is third on the list in usage.  Thankfully my commute no longer includes the top two stations.

Interesting comments as well on how to increase ridership in the underutilized stations.  Rob Goodspeed makes some good point in the article and his responses as well.  Its going to take local jurisdictions to motivate higher usage of those little used stations.  Until then those of us who ride the busier stations, and tax payers,  will subsidize those stations with little usge

Late night waterworks part Deux

Either Metro was on the ball and repaired whatever was causing the huge leak on The Farragut North platform, or the source of water ran out.  Either way I was glad that it did not cause any delays on the Red Line this morning.

Late night waterworks

I ended up staying in town late tonight and didn’t get to Farragut North ’til 10:30. Usually late night metro rides mean drunk college students and over worked Federal employee. Tonight Metro had an added bonus, torrential downpours on the platform. If you are not familiar with Farragut North its an underground station which makes having to dodge waterfalls and walking around huge puddles an unexpected experience.

I’m due back at the station in 9 hours, let’s see if Metro fixes the leaks or if the trains have an unknown amphibious attachment to get through the flood waters.

Love the early warnings

Gotta love it when the alerts start at 3:24.
